4. A new animated series parodying reality television shows for E4. Animated in a similar style to The Simpsons and aimed at audiences who enjoyed Big Brother and The X Factor.
The original palette produced by the group I was in consists mainly of Secondary and Primary colours that compliment each other rather than harmonise, green being the only one linking to the harmonised section of the colour wheel.
The overall tone is warm with the standard renditions of Red, Yellow and Green showcasing this. Black can also signify warmth due to the colour being capable of absorbing light and heat. The colour blue being the only cool colour in the palette so it wasn’t dominant enough to shift the tone as a whole.

Brief Summary expanding upon the ‘Owning Colour BBC Podcast’, Red being the main subject I chosen out of the five episodes:
The podcast taps into the various practices, affects and industry that is centered around this colour often filling in both ends of a spectrum in regards to personal taste, culture and marketing. The podcast starts off by expanding upon the industry that surrounds said Colour with a job specifically for an individual to name each tone of colour, including Red, so they can be copyrighted for any business who owns the Colour by name. The copyright prevents companies mimicking other companies promotional material which would end up in a court case if breached.
Topic after that revolves around the interpretations and gut reactions to the Colour whether it’s on the negative end involving danger and bloody violence or the more positive and enlightened guise of good luck as well asthe right amount edginess and cool factor to be fashionable for an adolescent youth due to its vibrancy and urgency. Highlighting the contrasting qualities Red always brings wherever utilised or observed.
Final talking point discussed in the podcast focused upon the physiological and psychological reactions towards the Colour with several offbeat experimentations varying from a test subject being unsettled by being placed in a room engulfed with red with high blood pressure being a reaction towards this. Likewise when cooler colours are dispersed the test subjectbecomescalmer with lower blood sugar as a result. This research carries out how Colour affects our bodies although the distinctionvariesbetween interpretations based on individual preference or cultural niceties given out over time.
Expanding the interpretations of Red it can also have a historical significance whether establishing roots or heritage of a community through entertainment or tradition. A change to a different colour can be controversial as it would show disrespect and misinterpretation of the elements mentioned prior.
