Artificial Intelligence Poster Development (Week 4)Poster Layout Pages/ Collage Experimentation. Part 3

Screenshots below showcase the change in subject and presentation for poster which will be produced. Two rough drawings and 3 to 4 screenshots of collage arrangements that could be used for poster.

One of the collage arrangements will be chosen and expanded upon. This will be present in Blog post labelled Part 4. The Theme will be centred on the AI claiming rights and the backlash that could sprout from that scenario. This will be prevalent in the poster I will develop.

Sketches on the pages present in previous blog will not be further expanded upon due to the initial confusion of whether the Poster and 500 word Research were separate or needed to be combined together. The former turned out to be the case and is expanded upon in this blog.

The Group Name ‘PAAR’ (Peoples Against A.I Rights) will be experimented on Adobe Illustrator (Two/Three versions produced) and will most likely be placed in the bottom right corner of final poster.

A Black Silhouette of the Collage might be considered using the Pen Tool (Illustration on Photoshop) on its own or in front of the collage. Fiery background made up of red/oranges will be considered although experimentation screenshots will showcase another potential colour palette.

Colour Theory palette might be produced for poster development.

Artificial Intelligence Poster Development (Week 4) 500 Word Research (Rights etc.) Part 2

The issue that is being addressed over the next few paragraphs centre around the inevitable talking point of how we define the humane treatment of ‘Artificial intelligence’ in regards to getting the same rights as other human beings as well as sharing rules on what to do and what not to do. (Treatment, Punishments etc). Arguments for and against this will be addressed throughout this research.

Problems and issues that would arise from this possible consideration for ‘Superhuman Rights’ according to (Julien, J., 2018.) would consist of great resistance towards the AI that wants to be deemed a ‘Person’ and given rights normal human beings would inherit from birth.

Fear is the main driving force behind the campaigns against the rights for AI to have a voice mainly centres around the threat of losing Benefits, Free Health Insurance and many other Positives that the AI’s provide due to the labour of AI overtaking Human activity; the campaigns against this don’t want this social norm to change. The manner of threats that would be spouted vary from minor protests to acts of violence if said AI gets equal rights.

The AI, if it wanted, after gaining rights and citizenship would spend its earning on other projects that are not beneficial to the humans on the planet. For example the AI would willingly pay for a Spaceship for a future space journey rather than provide funding for human architecture. Although at the time the article was written it is unclear if how a free, deep thinking AI would approach certain topics such as financial situations.

The options that are currently brought up during discussions of this inevitability is according to various government lawyers there is no way to prove the AI that’s wants to claim its own rights can have a conscious or inherit Human Feelings.

Although it’s been stated that AI’s do have emotions although these emotions in question are completely different to what can be analysed in humans both Male or Female. Therefore an AI can never understand the emotions or experiences humans have which can also be said for humans not ever to under an AI’s state of being.

An Experiment has been currently in the works regarding how an AI consciousness would work. This would be performed by quarantining the said AI away from the internet so it doesn’t look up what the human term ‘Consciousness’ means and apply it to its answers; it would be tested on its sense of self, ability to mourn etc. Like a lot of propositions in regards to this subject it has been met with both criticism and scepticism.

The Government (American) main argument for the time being states the massive differences between Humans and AI and how a new justice system might have to be created to accommodate AI Specifically instead of sharing the rules and sensibilities set out by humans. This has been considered as Speciesism by various sources providing arguments against this viewpoint although the debate is still ongoing with only theories addressing this topic.
